The term of 'Strawberry moon' was first used by Native American Tribes, particularly the Algonquian people who used lunar cycles to track the seasons and agricultural activities. June's full moon coincided with the peak strawberry harvesting season, Twiskies! Soooo, it's not about the color, but it's about the  best time to harvest strawberries!

So, Twiskies, this happens because during summer in the Northern Hemisphere (upper half of earth), the sun reaches its highest point, which means the full moon - being opposite the sun - appears at its lowest point above the horizon. This low trajectory causes the moon to shine through more of Earth's atmosphere, which can give it a warmer, more golden or amber appearance rather than the bright white we typically see when the moon is higher up.

Other cultures have different names for June's full moon that reflect their own seasonal markers: some European traditions call it the 'rose moon' or 'honey moon,' while other Native American tribes refer to it as the "green corn moon' or "birth moon.' How about in your cultures, Twiskies? What do you call June's full moon in your cultures?
